argus
Does anyone know a ready source for these special effect filters? Especially one that ships to Canada at an affordable rate. They seem to be a fairly recent development, and even if they're not good enough for imaging, they look like they'd scrub the extraneous visible light from broadband UV light sources just as well as UG11/18A conventional filters, except for much less expense. Potentially, anyway... Link to comment

JCDowdy
Designed to filter light sources, but as you say doubtful it would be of much use for imaging.See Rosco Canada retailer database. Link to comment
Cadmium
Here is a graph. The Rosco 3660 filter transmit into the blue range, which is why we filter MTE torches (for example) with UG11 or U-340, to cut any visual blue leak. The 3660 has a peak transmission at 400nm. Take a look at the .pdf below, although I don't think the graph shown and the numbers below it correspond very well, either one will show that this filter doesn't block visual blue.It has very little UV transmission at 360nm, and also has some Red/IR leak around 700nm.http://rosco.com/ima...acolor/3660.pdf Link to comment
