Summer Sunflower with Bee - IR

Cadmium

Recommended Posts

Cool to see the honeybee in IR. I love bees.

I'm not familiar with the filter though, so will go look it up.

What flower is that? Gazania? Arctotis? Gazanias have some dark center parts in IR.

Bjorn, B-410 is kind of a 'minus red' filter, so it is somewhat full spectrum but suppressed red. It suppresses basically the 600nm-to-700nm range, or at 50% transmission 540nm-to-740nm.

I hadn't intended to use this filter for this shot. Given exposure and saturation I disregarded this photo as a good B-410 example.

Andrea, I thought it was a Sunflower.

I am 99% sure that Colin was the first to show any dual band Hoya B-410 examples, here or anywhere else that I am aware of, which is the reason I have this filter in the first place, because of his examples.

My B-410 shots tend to be less saturated that Colin's and other examples I have seen, this may be the camera difference, I am not sure.
