Dianella caerulea is widely distributed in Australia where it is often common in coastal areas, heathlands and sand dunes. It is extremely variable throughout its range with a study revealing 10 different genetic forms in north-eastern Queensland.

I think this one shows that fluorescence is not as simple as we would like to believe. The UVIVFL dim orange colour seems similar to the visible colour so how can we explain that?

Wavelength and the colors on the screen aren't a one-to-one mapping? For instance, equal amounts of red and green light look yellow, but so does yellow light. So you can't really draw a conclusion from that.

Also, I don't think the colors things fluoresce have a direct relationship to the color of light they reflect. Shane could no doubt verify that.
