Location:

Skilpad National Park, Kamieskroon, North Cape province.

This species is endemic to the Cape provinces.

Comment:

This fleshy-leaved succulent thrives in South Africa where it is a native. The massive flowers can exceed 10 cm in width. They show a striking, large, UV-absorbing central bull's-eye with the outer 2/3 of the petals being UV-reflective.
