Gem material luminescence

While sorting through some of my past gemological luminescence photography work I thought there may be an interest in seeing some examples of cathodoluminesence, electroluminesence, DUV, SWUV and LWUV induced fluorescence, from these past journal articles:

Gems & Gemology 2001 Summer V37 #2 Spectral Reflectance and Fluorescence Characteristics of Natural-Color and Heat-Treated Golden South Sea Cultured Pearls

Gems & Gemology 1999 Spring V35 #1 The Separation Of Natural From Synthetic Colorless Sapphire

Gems & Gemology 1997 Spring V33 #1 Gemological Properties of Near-Colorless Synthetic Diamonds

pdf copies of the journals can be downloaded for free here

http://www.gia.edu/gems-gemology

In addition, for anyone that is interested in gem materials, this is a gold mine. All Gems & Gemology journals from 1930 to the present can be downloaded from this link.

PS: I would tag this article but "fluorescence" is not appropriate as it is only one form of luminescence.
