PohlComment: Very bright, small (1 cm across) yellow star-like flowers with 5 (sometimes 4 petals). Prefers slightly shaded damp site. Similar to the more common scarlet pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis), although that is in a different genus. "Classic" UV appearance of false yellow reflective petals with central UV dark area. This example found in shady woodland shining out against the drab floor. Reference:1.
