Timber
Yesterday I had a little day-out with my wife... everything was set for good photos, nice clear sky with few good looking clouds... so took my camera out, popped the EL-Nikkor 50 or the Sigma 30mm f2.8 on it, a Hoya U-360 and BG40 combo in front of it and let's shoot. Oh wait... battery is on 20%... no problem I have a spare battery! At home... Of course I forgot! So the walk was long but only a few shots I was able to take before the "Battery Exhausted" sign appeared... :( All pictures were shot by Sony NEX-6 Spectosil 2000 edition either the EL-Nikkor 50 f2.8 or the Sigma EX DN E 30mm f2.8. All in all I like UV for city... There is one place where I tried UVIR - IR - UV on the same scene...UV+IR - Only the Hoya U360 so UV and IR "leakage" UV only U360+BG40 IR - Zomei 960 It's interesting to see how the little foggy weather had absolutely no impact on IR! Andrea B.
Very interesting as we don't see many city shots in UV. I like the skyline photos. The longer-waved IR can penetrate the fogginess it would appear. Also a nice illustration in the UV skyline photo of how shorter-waved UV "fades" in the distance. The Hoya 360 shot is almost all IR, isn't it?!! nfoto
The second image has a weak, but visible, hot spot. The UV "blurriness" of these cityscapes is kept in check, to indicate either the air is very pure (unlikely) or there is some IR leakage (much more likely). Link to comment
