Nakai Anaphalis margaritacea var. intercedens Hara Anaphalis margaritacea var. occidentalis Greene Anaphalis margaritacea var. subalpina Gray Gnaphalium margaritaceum L. Comment: The actual yellow discoid flower of Pearly Everlasting is contained inside the white papery phyllaries. The plant is native to Asia and to North America. Varieties of A. margaritacea are grown ornamentally and for use in dried flower decorations. In UV the white bracts are UV-dark with brighter tips. Reference: 1. Equipment [Nikon D600-broadband + Carl Zeiss 60mm f/4.0 UV-Planar] Ultraviolet Light [f/11 for 15" @ ISO 400 with SB-14 UV-modified Flash and Baader UV-Pass Filter] A long exposure was taken so that the flash could be fired 3 times for a more even distribution of UV light.
