Andrea B.
I slap on some cosmetic sunscreen glop each morning as a preventive measure. We decided to see how effective it is by photographing me in UV. Looks like the goo is doing its job. But, yikes !!!!Now I can see how my visible hands will look at age 95. Not pretty!!I have on clear nail polish and lipstick. This accounts for the UV "look" of fingernails and lips. Equipment: D3200 with internal Baader-U and Coastal 60/4, handheld (nfoto). I see that I missed sunscreening an area on the end of my nose. My left foot is very bruised, but I don't really see any evidence of that in this foto. Link to comment

Shane
UV is really only useful for old bruises (3 to 6 months) when all visible indications are long gone. It relies on the build up of melanocytes at the edges of the wound. Early stage bruising requires IR and the onset of visible bruising obviously can be done with visible light but 450nm narrowband works best. Nice "blue hair" :D Link to comment
Andrea B.
Thanks, Shane. I did not know that about bruises. I think I'll keep the blue hair and turn in the awful looking, scary hands. Ugh, 20 years of keyboarding did them no good. Col, what are McLeans? Link to comment
