Comment

Solanum laciniatum is a small to medium shrub which occurs widely throughout south-eastern Australia. The leaves and unripened fruit contain the steroid alkaloid solasodine which is used in the manufacture of contraceptives. It is an important pioneer plant and generally lives no longer than 4 to 7 years.
