Cultivar in home garden

Synonyms:

  • Cerasus serrulata (Lindl.) Loudon
  • Japanese Flowering Cherry

Comment:

The Kwanzan Cherry provides masses of beautiful double pink blooms in spring. Its attractive serrate leaves turn shades of golden yellow and orange in autumn. Although no particular features are noted in alternate light photographs of the leaves, we still enjoy the surface detail brought out by the UV shortwaves. And we note the translucency in the Infrared shot where the leaves overlap which is created by the penetrating IR longwaves.

Thanks, Col !!

Sometimes I get a little tired of the documentary efforts and just shoot for the beauty of it all. ;)
