Andrea B.
Blum, A.G. (2013) Melampodium paludosum Kunth 'Million Gold' (Asteraceae) Butter Daisy. Flowers photographed in ultraviolet and visible light. http://www.ultraviol...d-butter-daisy/ Middletown, New Jersey, USA25 June 2013Cultivar in home garden Synonym:Melampodium leucanthum Torr. & A. GrayComment:These Butter Daisies show an interesting variation of UV signature between the older and newer flowers. The UV-dark patch on the ray base fades with age. The UV-dark disc, however, remains dark with age. We have seen such fading of UV-dark areas in other flowers such as the Myosotis. Equipment [Nikon D600-broadband + Nikon 105mm f/4.5 UV-Nikkor] Visible Light [f/16 for 1/500" @ ISO8400 in Sunlight with Baader UVIR-Block Filter] Ultraviolet Light [f/16 for 1.6" @ ISO 400 with SB-14 UV-modified Flash and Baader UVIR-Block Filter] Link to comment
