Wildflower in botanical garden

 

Comment:

Echinopsis are native to South America. However they are legal to import and grow in Arizona where this spectacularly blooming specimen was seen in the Arboretum. In Ultraviolet the flower shows quite a lot of iridescence as the light reflects off its UV-dark petals. The anthers and pollen are UV-light; the stigma and filaments are UV-dark.
