Andrea B.
Blum, A.G. (2013) Cistus x corbariensis Pourret (Cistaceae) White Rockrose. Flowers photographed in visible and ultraviolet light. http://www.ultraviol...white-rockrose/ Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Superior, Arizona, USA24 April 2013Wildflower in botanical garden Synonyms:Cistus x hybridusComment:This perennial, evergreen shrub is a natural hybrid which is non-native to the US. Its large, showy white flower becomes UV-absorbing, so bees see it as blue-green. There seems to be some iridescence along the petal edges which gives the impression of light rays emanating from the center. Reference:1.
