EM1 UVB flower test Images

After Reading the recent UV-B thread. I thought it would be informative to show some of the type of UVB images I have gotten from my Kolar Vision Full spectrum converted EM1.

These images were all taken using a 160 W Mercury vapor lamp

These images were all taken with a 25W UVB compact fluorescent bulb at 3 inches away from the flower. The 300bp images are taken just as the bulb is turned on to catch the low preasure warm up 297nm and 302nm bands. After the lamp is warm I no longer see anything with a 300bp filter.

Very cool. Much better than I am seeing with my multispectral 5DSR. Out of interest, what colours are you getting when you just look at the raw files without processing? With my 450d half and half camera, the 308nm filter image is strongly green, and very different to the Baader U. One of your 300bp10 images is green but the other isn't, nor are either of the 313 ones. Did you make these monochrome in processing, or did the RAWs have no colour?

Jonathan,

Yes I was trying to standardize the images but now see I fully messed them up.

First set are color for vis, color for Baader and monochrome for both 313 and 300nm.

The second set is color for visible and 300nm, but monochrome for BaaderU and 313nm.

For the 313nm its strong green. For the 300nm its a stronger green. The last image marked attached image I can delete, but is a repeat of the monochrome 313nm image. All of these are directly from the camera.

I seak a cube for latter WB an image. Thats the white thing in bottom right of the second set.

The color from 313nm and 300nm is so strongly green, that I find it hard to get good exposure. So now I set camera to monochrome for these wavelengths to get proper exposure.
