nfoto Posted January 29, 2019 Share Posted January 29, 2019 Some times IR turns out unexpected results. For example, the phyllaries ('bracts') on dandelions Taraxacum spp. are black whilst everything else is white in IR. Gibbon fur has to be added to the exceptions list, apparently. Link to comment
OlDoinyo Posted January 30, 2019 Share Posted January 30, 2019 Melanin does absorb some IR, especially shorter wavelengths--this looks as though taken with a 720-ish filter. I don't know whether other pigments are in play here. Link to comment
