A simple UVF image of seeds inside a honeydew melon.

Technical specs: Nikon D800 with 105mm micro Nikkor lens at f/16.

UVF approx. 10 seconds exposure with Convoy S2+ UV source. Light painted during exposure.

Fluorescence is always an unexpected delight. This UVF melon looks quite frosty.

 

Are you using a diffuser on your Convoy? Your light painting looks nice and smooth. It is so easy to miss an area or to create hot areas when light painting. Takes a lot of practice, for me anyway.

Diffuser -- once Klaus gave me a small piece of plastic which was slightly "pebbled", for lack of a better term", to fit over a 365nm Nichia UV-Led. This worked to decrease the typical hot spot. Of course I have absolutely no idea what kind of plastic that was. You can search on an optics site for diffusers to see what is available. Edmund Optics has some I think.
