Hornblende
Dear all, I was at the eclipse event organised by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in Ottawa. Even though the eclipse was only partial (60% max) it was really "wow" to see the crescent shape growing on the Sun! I could even feel that the luminosity was a little bit lower than normal. I made a timelapse in H-alpha, you can find it here: Note the small solar flare on the lower left.I used a Lunt LS50THa solar scope (0.075nm bandwidth) with a Zwo asi120mm-s monochrome CCD camera. I took 1 image every minute. A lot of people showed up to look at my computer screen during the recording and borrowed my solar glasses many many time. It was amazing. Link to comment
Andy Perrin
This is awesome! How did you align all the images? I thought of doing this, but the sun kept moving, and so all my images are in a slightly different place (I readjusted the camera by hand). Link to comment
Hornblende
Andy, you can use the Imppg software http://greatattractor.github.io/imppg/It has a tool for aligning solar images. Link to comment
