UVIF of human tooth

Recommended Posts

Dear UVP friends

I just started fluorescence photography

at the moment I use MT-24EX with ultraviolet filter bought in the deepSea

100mmL with 5D3 Canon

and this is what I get.

Can you give me some advice on how I can improve my photos?

I am thinking about to buy various kind of filters including the Dichroic filter, will that be a good idea?

best regards

Roy Lu

Hi Roy,

First, can you also include more information on how the photo was captured. This should include exposure (time, ISO, f#), and any filters which were used - both on the camera and on the light source.

Also, if you are considering dichroic filters just keep in mind that while they can be very effective they also tend to be very angular dependent; which can lead to filtration gradients across an image (especially with wide angle lenses [shorter than the 100mm you used above]).

Everything we know here about fluorescence photography is in the write-up:

Sticky :: UV-Induced Visible Fluorescence .

Please read that first.

This looks quite interesting and comprehensive.

@Andrea, just FYI - the 2nd and 3rd links you posted are both hyperlinked to the same location (direct copy and paste works okay, of course).
