The majority of these are long shots, so I'm putting this post here.

Equipment was Sony NEX-7, S8612 1.75mm (thanks, Cadmium!), nominally UG11 2mm (but possibly Chinese), EL-Nikkor 80mm/5.6 lens.

All F-numbers are highly approximate, since I was changing it a lot and didn't bother to note them. I WISH I had a way to automatically capture the aperture!

1/40" ISO3200 "F8" -- this is technically a panorama, since I merged several pics.

Thanks everyone! UV seems to really suit this particular landscape, especially with no leaves on the trees. It's very much the New England of H.P. Lovecraft.

Andrea, the lichen are fascinating.

I like the photo of the horse. If it wasn't for the utility poles in the background it would be easy to see this as an old-timey photo from the wild west, or something to that effect.

The first utility poles for telegraphs went up in 1844, Mark, so it's entirely possible you'd have seen them in the old west too! Strange to think they've been part of our landscape for 173 years now.

omg! I had no idea utility poles have been around that long because I always forget that we had telegraph electricity before light bulb electricity. :D Although I guess it was all battery powered for telegraphs back then. Not like we know it now as AC.
