Adrian
I have been photographing Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris) in UV reflected recently (centre) , and tried an entirely backlit version (right) . An interesting result!Full spectrum converted Nikon D300S, El Nikkor 80mm, Baader U filter. Two "full spectrum converted" Metz 45 CL5 flash guns. 1/160th @ f/8 Link to comment
Andrea B.
That is very interesting! Flower rays and petals transmit as well as reflect and absorb various wavelengths. Can you explain how you did the backlighting. One flash in back? Two? Link to comment
Adrian
Andrea,Yes there were two equally powered flashes behind the flower, at approx. 45 degrees to it, snooted with black card to prevent flare. Known as darkfield lighting. Link to comment
