Psychedelicized Daffodil

Psychedelicized Daffodil.

☼ Shot On the Spring Equinox 2017 ☼

Lighting:

For the Baader U shot I used a 13W black light.

For one of the UVIVF shots I used the 13W black light (unfiltered).

For one of the UVIVF shots I used two MTE torches (filtered with U-340).

All other shots use the ExoTerra REPTILE UVB 200 26W bulb.

Other than the Baader U, all filters are 2mm thick except the U-330 which is 1.5mm thick.

NOTE the comparison of the U-330 + S8612 and the U-330 + S8612 + B-410. These were white balanced individually, and It is my opinion that is the best way to white balance them.

Given that, I see very little difference between the two, not more red with the B-410, but slightly less if you look close.

Again however, keep in mind these don't have what I would call natural light. So, the story is not yet over...

Keep in mind that you will probably get different color results with natural and more normal light.

One of the reasons these have the colors they do is because of the Reptile Lamp which has a peculiar spectral profile.

Here is an example using the UVB 200 bulb (instead of the Black Light I used above) for the Baader U shot, and also incandescent bulb for IR 850nm shot.

What a lovely array of hues from the various filter combinations. Very cool.

The UV and UV combinations all show that the trumpet of the daffodil is "different". Undoubtedly, this means something in the natural world, I would think. :)

Thanks. I was not looking for meaning, just exploring mostly for beauty. I was also test comparing the two U-330 stacks to see if there was any real difference, and I see very little there.

The reptile light probably has a lot to do with the color results, it may produce different colors compared to natural light, but I have not compared directly.

I was mostly using the reptile light to duplicate what I had seen someone else do already.

Here are my two favorites (both using Reptile Lamp UVB 200 26w).
