Hornblende
Ottawa is my playground for shooting UV outdoor, I thought it would be a good idea to share some photos I took recently :) Canon 6D full spectrum - Baader-U - El-Nikkor 80mm f/5.6 - sunlight - custome white balance on PTFE Rideau Canal (my favorite). The UV aspect gives a nice "19th century" look. The bridge behind the parliament, Ottawa River. Crane at the Universty of Ottawa. Panoramic from one of the university building (higher resolution here). Link to comment
Andy Perrin
Love the panorama especially! Link to comment
Guest
Very nice images. Even though the distance does eventually fade in the panorama, I'm surprised by how far is visible (usually UV images are very hazy due to atmospheric scattering, etc). Ottawa must have very clean air ;) Link to comment
Andy Perrin
Mark, it's winter so indeed the air probably is cleaner, but honestly even last summer I could see that far with my camera. UV's haze effect is somewhat overrated in my opinion. ;) Link to comment
Andrea B.
My favorite here is the bridge and icy river scene. Very nice! I'm going to come back with a photo showing you just how bad the distance effect can be. Stay tuned! :D Link to comment
Hornblende
More Ottawa, with a pinhole this time!I wanted to see what I could achieve with my pinhole and long exposure time. The resolution is bad but from a pinhole what would anyone expects. However, I think a pinhole performs really well given the price of a sheet of tin foil :DI propose to add "pinhole" in the lens list, or at least mention it. Canon 6D full spectrum - Baader-U - pinhole in tin foil - overcast sunlight - custome white balance on PTFE ISO 6400 - 8" exposure ISO 6400 - 8" exposure ISO 200 - 240" exposure Here, the trick is to not move during 4 minutes in order to appear on the picture while the crowd of tourists get smoothed out :DISO 200 - 240" exposure Link to comment
Cadmium
I like seeing these pinhole shots, they are very interesting. Thanks! :-) Link to comment
Andy Perrin
I like them quite a bit. It is possible to sharpen them a bit with SmartDeblur 2.3? (I know not everyone likes this program, but it seems to work alright for me, or maybe I'm just less picky about artifacts!) For example:Original from above for reference: Denoised with Neat Image PS plugin, then sharpened with SmartDeblur 2.3: (One can reduce the artifacts at the expense of losing some sharpness also.)
