Andy Perrin
I've been out and about, taking plenty of UV photos. These are such a grab-bag, I was not sure where to file them. (Andrea - For the flowers, I hate to make a formal post with my photography skills still so newbie-ish. I don't want to adulterate the database with inferior shots compared to what is currently in there. Also, you have these species already.) Bowl of chips, visible light (sunshine, iPhone 6S Plus)(Apologies for the camera phone, but I do not yet own a UV/IR cut filter.) Bowl of chips, UV (sunshine, NEX-7, back-mounted 330WB80, Novoflex Noflexar, F/8, 1/30", ISO3200) Tulip (sunshine, iPhone 6S Plus) Tulip (sunshine, NEX-7, back-mounted 330WB80, Novoflex Noflexar, F/8, 15", ISO100)This was interesting because the UV "bullseye" was inverted with respect to the visible image! OlDoinyo
It looks like the Noflexar's background bokeh is distinctly negative, which results in a hint of line-doubling on the branches in the last photo. Foreground bokeh may be neutral or weakly positive, judging from the petal tips in the second photo. I would be curious if its visible or IR characteristics are any different. Link to comment
Cadmium
Andy, Nice shots, that flower comparison in interesting in several ways. Link to comment
Andrea B.
Andy, don't worry about "adulterating" the database if you would like to post a botanical example sometime. Some of my old D200 efforts are truly awful. This tulip is definitely IS interesting with its reversed bullseye UV signature. And Hello-Andy-in-UV !! Cool shot !! ***** Clark, that was interesting to me about the Noflexar bokeh. I've seen line-doubling like that before in other lenses. Link to comment
