I took advantage of the brief parting of the clouds this weekend to take some pictures around town. These are all with the Sony NEX-7 unless otherwise specified.

Washington Building in visible (iPhone 6S+, for purposes of comparison to UV)

Police station in visible (iPhone 6S+, this is just to allow comparison for the UV. I hate having the UV without any visible reference...)

Note: This is technically a panorama, and I have filled in part of the sky and also a chunk on the left using PS's Content Aware fill.

Some nice work, Andy. I really enjoy seeing 'normal' scenes and buildings in UV.

Interesting the clock in the last two frames - the glass seems not to pass much UV.

Looks like your Novoflex is a good sharp copy. Have you tried it for close-up yet?

Nope, no close-ups yet, except for the stuff I did with the book foxing. I've been waiting for some flowers to appear! We JUST started getting some this week, actually.

I did a few more building shots today:

I enjoyed how the "FIX ME" came out in the UV shot, like a secret message to the courts...

Andy, Very nice shots, and the Visual/UV comparisons are quite nice to see together.

Some don't appreciate UV photography, an acquired taste I suppose, but your shots inspire appreciation.

Love the "Fix Me" !!!

You got some interesting edge effect there in the sky. I wonder what that is from? The sun was behind you so can't be flare, right?

The UV brings out the textures so interestingly.

Yes, I was having a number of problems with this setup, which I'll write up for you over in the technical section. Some of the sky issues are simply that those pictures were panoramas and the sky doesn't stay still (high winds yesterday, as you can see from the flags!). I filled in a couple of missing spots with content-aware fill in PS also. But I was having other optical issues there too, in addition to those. Flare of some kind may be part of it.
