albln
Greetings everybody! As I mentioned in the introductory post, I am thinking of dipping my toes in the waters of UV photography after having had some experience with IR. My main question right now is to know if I can have results using a converted camera for UV without having to use an external UV light source. Or better said, can I just use the sun as the external source and still obtain results with a modified camera for UV? Most of the pictures I have seen here seem to have been made with an external UV source, so I am just wondering... Thanks in advance! Albert Link to comment

OlDoinyo
My work is almost 100% sunlit. Artificial illumination comes in more with indoor studio work, although fill flash may also be used. Link to comment
Alaun
Welcome! These all with sun light only and hand held: (Panasonic GH3 UVIR, Baader U, UV Nikkor 105) (I have more often a problem to find the correct focus point) Werner Link to comment

Andrea B.
When outdoors, UV illumination from a UV-flash, lamp or torch is typically required only with close work in order to reduce exposure length to avoid motion blur. But as Werner has shown above, you can do some close work outdoors without flash, etc.Of course, when indoors artifical UV illumination is almost always required. Link to comment
