African flowers photographed in visible and ultraviolet light. http://www.ultraviol...ape-snapdragon/ Nemesia barbata (Thunb.)Benth.Syn. Nemesia guthrei Hiern. incl. N. grandiflora Diels. An abundance of these pretty flowers were observed and photographed on a recently burnt fynbos field on Cape Peninsula, Western Cape province, South Africa, 29 August 2015. Image reference: NEME_BAR_G1508295989_VIS Visible light: Nikon Df, Voigtländer 125 mm f/2.5 APO-Lanthar lens, daylight Due to its almost 3-D appearance, shooting this flower in UV under field conditions was a little tricky. I selected this capture as it best showed the pronounced band of conical cells on the front corolla lobe. UV image obtained with Nikon D3200, UV-Nikkor 105 mm f/4.5 lens, Baader U2" ('Venus') filter (built-in), SB-140 flash.
