Rørslett, B. 2015. Arctotis acaulis L. (Asteraceae). Botterblom, Renoster Gousblom. African flowers photographed in visible and ultraviolet light. http://www.ultravioletphotography.com/content/index.php/topic/1515-arctotis-acaulis-botterblom/

The plains around Nieuwoudtville, Northern Cape Province, South Africa are renowned for their colourful and variegated flower display in spring time, after the winter rain season has ended. Arctotis species are a common component of these floral fireworks. The ray florets, even in the same species, can exhibit a colour range from near white to yellow or organge. The population of A. acaulis documented by me 4 September, 2015 at the Hantam Botanical Station outside Nieuwoudtville had deep orange-coloured rays.
