A Stranger In The Wind

The first two shots from a couple of years ago when I went to Rowley it was almost a Ghost town. The population was up to 12 when I went. Several buildings remain and in the summer students give tours of the town.

A little history on Rowley for those interested can be found here

These were shot on my 5D MKII modified for full spectrum and Coastal Optics 60 and Baeder U. I have been playing around with these images in Capture one and used a white balance setting of 2552 Kelvin Tint-46.6 and a little adjustment on the Curve and Shadows.

Sam's Saloon is open the last Saturday of the month where locals and tourists go for pizza and drinks.

The last shot is from Cypress Hills Provincial Park where they have an old outdoor museum devoted to forestry life. Shot on the Fuji S3 UV/IR and Coastal Optics 60. I used the UG 11X. Processed in Capture One. White balance 3584 Kelvin, Tint -59.5. No curve applied but the highlights are lessened by 20. White balance was obtained from the tree trunk in the background.

I process all my images first in Capture One Pro at full size and then take them into PS CS6 to do any final adjustments and resizing.

Nicely done!

I would love to see the before visible shots and then the UV. I understand this can be a real pain sometimes though.

So cool we can see the dark central UV signature in the little yellow flowers on the grass in the last one.

Regretfully that day at Rowley, most of my shooting was IR and UV. Neither of those building were shot in the visible spectrum.

Nice work, Robert.

Isn't that old Case tractor interesting? Looks like it could go right up a mountain with that rear "tread".
