This park is a reclaimed elevated railway track. One portion of it is formed like a theater, with transparent panes looking down onto a street. Transparent in VIS, that is. The glass/plastic panes have a very effective built-in UV-cut filter than makes them pitch black in the UV.

UV picture: Baader U, Sigma 19 mm f/2.8, multispectral converted Olympus E-PM2, hand-held.

VIS picture shot with a different camera and from a slightly different position.

Whether the windows are polycarbonate or laminated glass, the ferals here would have scratched the windows with graffiti.

I've never figured out what this theater-like seating is for. To watch the traffic? ;)

High Line Park is quite an interesting reclamation project of the old El which once rattled along there. Now there are beautiful trees and flowers, interesting views, places to sit, sculptures and other art. A novel experience.

The Wiki article says that this is an "Urban Theater" which Enrico has shown us. Hmmm.....

I love it that our members visit cool places and show us the UV view in addition to the visible. We UV photographers have such interesting visionary experiences, don't we?
