Wonderful images Alex. Are the "striations" on the Tussilago petals due to conical cells?

Thanks Dave!

I think so. But the magnification I used was not sufficient to image them properly. I should try again next year.

Beautiful images, Alex! Are all images taken in normal visible light, or are they multi-spectra images?

Thanks Bil and Akira!

Akira, this is visible fluorescence. If there is any contamination with UV, it is negligible.

Andrea B.

The details in these fluorescence fotos are amazing to me.

Lovely work, Alex.

I think you could sell these!

Alex, thanks! I asked about the spectrum becasuse of the color of the Colt's Foot looking like an UV image. Didn't you use any UV-cut filter like Y44?

By the way, the editor seems to have some glitch. I cannot copy/paste the text, and the "Quote" button doesn't work. I'm using IE11. Safari on Mac works just fine, though.

Akira, I use regular unmodified camera to capture visible fluorescence.

Colt's Foot is very different in reflected UV.

Alex, thanks for the dtails.

I used to enjoy shooting Colt's Foot in UV when I had some rigs for that, but never had a chance to try UIV fluorescence. Now that I don't have any rig for UV, but I do have a 360nm UV torch. So, I will try more fluorescence images. Thaks for the inspiraition!
