Dandelion IR Fireworks

I couldn't resist!

Made using the B+W 093 IR filter.

My SigOth thought it looked like fireworks.

How do you get that much color variation through an 093? I have used that filter quite a bit and all I have ever gotten was tinted monochromes (with perhaps a cast gradient here and there,)

Clark, that was not a "natural" 093 IR photo, which tend to be basically monochrome as you have observed.

I opened the NEF in NX2 and put an NX2 black dropper on the background very close to a white area to dramatically darken a lot of the photo and simplify the composition. Then I used 3 or 4 NX2 color points on the flowers and set the color points to bright colours. That was it. :)

 

Here is the actual photo looking very 093.

(Not sure what happened to my Copyright watermark here. Looks rather smudgy!)
