Andrea B.
There seems to be some current controversy about this Leitz enlarging lens. I am really not sure why. We have all known about this lens for at least 10 years! What am I missing here anyway? ********** From Photo.net:http://photo.net/dig...ra-forum/00DdYFSep 22, 2005; 03:47 p.m.The Leitz Focotar II 100mm is btw. excellent for UV also and tack sharp.Klaus ********** From Photo.net:http://photo.net/dig...00EZMd?start=30Dec 30, 2005; 05:17 a.m. And now on to the UV transmission on lenses (just an excerpt of quite a lot of test). As you may see, only a few lenses do transmit sufficient amount of UV, the most well known the (older version only) Nikon EL Nikkor 3.5/63mm, the Leitz Focotar II 100mm, the Wollensak Graphic Raptar lenses (138mm, 90mm). The specialized scientific lenses like the Pentax Quartz Takumar 3.5/85mm and the Pentax Ultra Achromatic Takumar 4.5/85mm of course have a flat transmission down to 200nm.KlausAn accompanying chart shows some UV-transmissions for various lenses. ********** From Fotozones.comJan 27 2010The 50mm and 100mm Focotar-II were in the Fotozones Lens Sticky since 2010, possibly before. Those lenses are still in the current UVP Lens Sticky.http://www.fotozones...-list-proposal/ Link to comment
