Recommended Posts

Seems to be good for UV/IR. :)

I found one in great condition for $15. Nice and sharp, too.

Equipment: Pentax K5-broadband + Kaligar 35/3.5 + Sunlight

Filters: Baader UV/IR-Cut, BaaderU UV-Pass, B+W 093 IR-Pass

Exposure: f/11 and ISO-160 (base ISO on the K5).

Colour and white balance were freshly profiled for this test.

Set 1: Glory-of-the-Snow Flowers at about 3 feet.

Visible [f/11 for 1/200" @ ISO-160]

Ultraviolet [f/11 for 2.5" @ ISO-160]

2.5 seconds isn't bad at all for f/11 at base ISO.

I was pleasantly surprised. :D

This reminds me to put up a foto of the lens. Will do that when I get a minute to shoot it.

Hey I just got this lens :) ! For only 30$, in great condition.

For ages I was looking for a good, cheap 35mm lens for UV photography but those found on ebay are too expensive (Soligor, Hanimex, Optomax, Kuri clones etc, you name it!). Plus, some people start to realise they are good for UV and crank up the price! Aaarg!

Anyway, I can't wait to test the lens outside and compare it with the EL-Nikkor 80mm with the pinhole test.
