Comment

Philotheca verrucosa is an extremely variable and ornamental species which grows in wide range of soils and under various climatic conditions. This form grows as a low shrub in Central Victoria around the goldmining city of Bendigo. This species was first described in 1834 by French botanist Achille Richard who gave it the name Eriostemon verrucosum, later amended to Eriostemon verrucosus. It was transferred to the genus Philotheca by Paul G. Wilson in 1998.
